Park National Bank in Mt. Prospect is a main bank facility that provides a strong recognizable civic presence. Park National felt that many of the patrons this new branch bank would be serving in the Mt. Prospect community were relocating from the inner city and were more familiar and comfortable with traditional urban bank architecture. This design updates traditional civic and bank architecture. The classical language is generalized and adapted to current technology.
The interior, with its terrazzo floors, high-ceilinged lobby, and generous accents of dark green marble and cherry wood on the teller line, check stand, and desks, reinforces the neoclassical exterior design. This associational use of traditional architecture conveys a sense of financial strength and stability normally associated with a much larger facility.
